Joining organizations is part of living a happy college life. Most especially when that organization means a lot to you and lets you learn at the same time. Organizations are supposedly there to help you to grow and mature. They are your building blocks.
Each organizations have different approaches. Just like the organization i joined. The one named APC SPEAKS. This organization has two clusters. And those are the debate and Public speaking cluster.
When i was being screened for the first time in APC SPEAKS, i was honestly not ready. A friend of mine just referred that organization to me since it's going to help us in our english efficiency big time. Sooo... There.... Why not? I wont lose anything if i try right? The screening was composed of 4 things (if i remember right). The first one was introducing yourself to the judges, second was doing a speech about a certain topic that they will give, the third one would be debating about a certain topic that they too will give and the last one would be the results. The first one was kind of a synch. The second was was ok. The third one was a challenge! I hated debates. So i thought i failed that portion. And the last one was nerve wrecking. They told me to wait for the results to be released next week. So the whole week i was worrying id i passed it or not. When next week came, i was told by a friend that i passed. And so the heavy burden that was in my chest was instantly dropped.
When training in APC SPEAKS started, they made us do speeches and fun activities. They also balanced the seriousness of the atmosphere in the org. Ice breaker games were used to make us feel relaxed and activities would be given later. But when real activities were given, that's when everyone goes on serious mode. They make good speeches with everything they have. And when we recite in front, there will be flaws but there will also be good quirks, good remarks and bad remarks. They made us know our mistakes and sought out to correct them. I actually find their method bold and fun. Like there is no need to hold back. Just say it if you found a fault or something in the speech that i made. That way, i can change and make it better.
APC SPEAKS is a fun org to be in. So if you want to be better in debates or speaking to a crowd, then APC SPEAKS is the org for you.

Paradise in hell called college. Ver. APC
Stress, homework, projects, exams and speeches. Those are just a few things that each college student experience in their college life. Questions then pop up when we experience hardships in college. Questions like, why do we have to go through this? Why do i have to encounter and defeat a demon called "thesis" someday? and Lastly, do i really have to do this? The short answer is: YES! HECK YES! challenges and obstacles are one of the things that makes us stronger and more mature. They help us grow in every way and molds us into better versions of ourselves. Without challenges, it would be like living in a world wherein you wont ever learn anything new and your ideals won't be tested and corrected when wrong. College is the epitome of challenges for students. They will either make you grow exponentially or break you. Different types of colleges have different approaches to their students. Just like APC
In APC, they will let you two choices. You will either learn to manage your time wisely and balance your social life from your studies or you will fail and repeat again and again unless you learn how to manage your time wisely. The professors are all well trained. Masters in their fields and some are almost in the level of mastery. Each have different ways of teaching but all have the same outcome they want to attain. And that is to let their students learn A LOT from them. Being able to hand down the knowledge and wisdom they have to their students is a joyous event for them. So respect and look up to our professors in APC. Some might seem scary at first, but i bet that they just want you to learn.
Being in this university is actually quite fun. There are tons of events wherein the student body will be required to attend. Some would be seminars and events! Parties are also held here. Like, a LOT. APC supports them so much that there'll be a frosh night on august, 14. 2015!
APC may not be a stress free environment, but its surroundings is well balanced. A library for those who would want to study, a lounge for those who just want to hang around and chill for a bit and a canteen for those who would want to eat and chill.
This place may not be perfect, but it is the most suitable place in pursuit of perfection.
